Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Bars: Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Bars are produced by using advanced processing techniques usually on AISI 1045/1050 or 10v45 steel rods, for surface removal, polishing, induction hardening, followed by hard chrome plating to a thickness minimum of 20μm per side. The finished product results in a superior impact resistant bar ideal for high quality piston rods capable of handling tough environments.
We stock Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Shafting in both English and Metric sizes. Surface Hardness is (Rc 50-60). . We offer an inventory in 10/12 Ft and 20/24 Ft Random Lengths. Material is AISI 1045/1050 carbon steel. This material is an excellent choice for pneumatic and hydraulic applications. Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Rod
Induction hardening of piston rods in hydraulic cylinders is performed in order to increase the resistance to damage from external impact in applications where there is risk for them. Examples are piston rods for hydraulic cylinders in excavators and loaders and for power-steering cylinders. An additional advantage afforded by induction hardening is improved resistance to inadvertent handling damage during cylinder manufacture.

The packaging of the chrome rod needs to avoid damage during transportation. Paper tubes and straw ropes are usually used for packaging to ensure the neatness of the piston rod and stored in the warehouse.
After all honed tube and piston rod products are packaged, they are packed into custom wooden boxes and transported to the freight port for loading into containers.
